Energy Storage 
Austin, Texas - In April 2019, via our affiliated company, FirstPower Energy Texas, LLC, we entered into a Joint Venture with Corbel Communications. to develop low power battery energy storage projects in Austin, Texas and Mt. Vernon, NY.   The joint venture will develop turnkey EPC and O&M projects for low voltage battery energy storage systems (BESS) for 5G smart cities.   The Joint Venture resulted in the formation of Lampione Energy Storage Services LLC (LESS).  In May 2019, Corbel was awarded a contract to upgrade the Mt. Vernon, NY EMS system beating out over 30 other RFP proposers.  The Joint Venture continues to expand its presence in the US, Europe, Australia,  and in SE Asia with other 5G Smart City partners such as Hollywall Development, LLC.  

Waste to Energy Gasification 
Nashville, TN - In September 2017, via our affiliated company, FirstPower Energy Texas, LLC, we entered into an agreement with ARIES Clean Energy of Nashville, TN to develop several waste-to-energy gasification projects in New Jersey.   ARIES is a leading waste-to-energy company owned by the Thompson Caterpillar company, one of the largest Caterpillar dealers in the US.  To date, ARIES has constructed 5 plants in 4 states with over 55,000 hours of operation and seeks to expand its platform in the US and other international markets.  In January 2018, the company announced its first round of investment funding with Spring Lane Capital. Renewable Power
Ohio, USA - Wind - In June 2010, via our affiliated company, Cavallo Energy LLC, we bid and won with our Joint Venture partner, Bechtel Construction, a 120 MW request for proposals (RFP) to construct the first offshore 120 MW wind project near Cleveland, Ohio. In fall of 2012, the project received a Department of Energy grant to assist in developing the project.  The Project continues to be developed with local support and funding and was recently awarded a $45 million development grant from the US Department of Energy.  Please click here to read local print coverage of the DOE press release. For additional information, please click here.   In November 2012, we sold our interest in the project to our joint development partners.  

Retail Electricity
Texas, USA - In November, 2009, we were selected by the State of Texas to administer their State Power Program. The program provides reliable and low cost energy to over 2,000 MW of public retail customers (PRCs) inclusive of schools, municipalities, federal agencies, and local CoOps.  As part of this acquisition, we entered into a Energy Services Agreement with EDF Trading USA to provide back-office and credit support.  Please click here to read additional information on this company.  In 2015,  we sold our interest in this company to Calpine and the brand name continues to be Cavallo Energy Texas, LLC.
